【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdevelopedforthepurposeofmeasuringthegrossbetaradioactivityinwater.Itisusedfortheanalysisofbothprocessandenvironmentalwatertodeterminegrossbetaactivity.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofbetaparticleactivityofwater,asreferencedtothebetaenergyof137Cs,notcorrectedforconversionelectrons.Itisapplicabletobetaemittershavingmaximumenergiesabove0.1MeVandatactivitylevelsabove0.02Bq/mLofradioactivehomogeneouswaterformostcountingsystems.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletosamplescontainingradionuclidesthatarevolatileunderconditionsoftheanalysis.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedforeitherabsoluteorrelativedeterminations.Intracerwork,theresultsmaybeexpressedbycomparisonwithastandardwhichisdefinedtobe100%.Forradioassay,datamaybeexpressedintermsofaknownradionuclidestandardiftheradionuclidesofconcernareknownandnofractionationoccurredduringprocessing,ormaybeexpressedarbitrarilyintermsofsomeotherstandardsuchascesium-137.GeneralinformationonradioactivityandmeasurementofradiationmaybefoundintheliteratureandPracticeD3648.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
